BSM phone to try to charge me for the lessons I had that I got free because other lessons got cancelled - and those ones, no-one had told me, so I spent a good 20 minutes standing on Keble Road in a cold wind trying to get first the BSM office (no answer as usual) and then my instructor on the phone to see what was up. And then, in that conversation, it seems they *have* booked a test for me - for after I move! I'd specifically told them that I was moving and starting work and I needed to either get a cancellation for before then or not to book one later without asking me.
Now, they can't cancel as otherwise it'll "take months before you get your refund" - erm *they* took my payment by credit card, so surely *they* should be refunding it. After arguing for a bit, I gave in. They are going to try to move it forward to before my moving date, otherwise it will be taking a day off (out of 12 precious days' leave in my probationary period, some of which will have to be sorting out th*s*s stuff) within a fortnight of starting work. Argh!

Not entirely sure what's happened for it to go up, but I suppose my supervisor meeting.
Just had a meeting with my supervisor. He seemed quite chipper and happy with what he's read so far and quite happy with me starting work so soon (good, cos he doesn't have a choice). Okay, he suggested writing a model some afternoon when I'm bored, but hey, I can write a model of the atmosphere in an afternoon, can't I? Anyway, he's got my draft of introduction and I have his comments on chapters 2 and 3 - and very few of them :-)
Plus, it's a nice day. Sunny but slightly overcast so I don't have a headache. Praise high-level cirrus.
I *like* clouds. I like cumulus and nimbus and cirrus and nacreous and noctilucent (those two are bootiful.) Don't like the sun as much - mainly due to headaches. If it didn't give me headaches, I'd like it much more as diabatic heating is rather interesting. My job title to be is rather appropriate though - "Cloud and Radiation Research Scientist"
